It’s not often you can you’ve been working on a masterpiece. But this is. The Darlaston Dog Fight, a new work of theatre from Regional Voice, is an explosive, uncompromising account of vitality and the human spirit. Tackling aggression and violence in society, and asking those uncomfortable questions we’d all rather not consider, this production blends dance, poetic narrative, movement song. As entertaining as it is provocative. As violent as it is moving and unique.

It’s been SO much fun working on this as movement director. And I’ve learned so much from all the wonderful people around me. Thank you to David for writing this magnificent play. To Glen for leading the vessel, and to the magnificent three-strong cast Reaya Sealey, Tina-Louise Barnes, and Chris Kibbler who have made this piece of drama absolutely EPIC.

The Darlaston Dog Fight will run three exclusive performances only: Friday 23rd 7.30pm, and Saturday 24th at 1pm and 7.30pm.

‘Life is a work of HEART’

This is the philosophy behind Matthew Lambden’s brand new dance studio opening  in Birmingham this year. I can’t wait to share my practice in this new space and share in the Heart Work experience.

FLOW: contemporary dance

Dance with FLOW. Helen teaches a fluid, lyrical contemporary class with dynamic phrasing and technique practice. The class often includes lengthy movement phrases that build in complexity. Attention is given to the Lehrer principles of pure momentum and space, combined with the use of dynamic rhythm.  Dancers will work both in the floor, and aspire to the sky, and harness technical and creative flow within the body. Expansive, fun and totally inspiring.

Day: Friday (starts 26th Jan 2018)

Time: 6.30pm

Level: Open level

Cost: £7 drop in

£70 for 11 week term (Book)

Well done to my ladies for their performance at Big John’s Mela this weekend.  Fantastic to be apart of such a  diverse, colourful festival. There’s some real talent out there in our second city. Safe to say some of it appears in the shots below. Once again, well done ladies.

Thank you to all the pros backstage, to Sharm for inviting us, and to the crowd for whooping your socks off. We loved every minute!

If you fancy working with us, performing with me, or trying out some New style Jazz moves in  class, get in touch. I’m only too happy to answer any questions you might have, or take bookings.
